Rememberance

My years at Batesville High School have been some very interesting ones. From the good times to the bad. From losing old friends to gaining knew ones. It has been a very difficult set of years for me. When I entered Ninth grade shattered and scared. My step sister had disowned us and we had know clue were she was, my Oldest brother was in prison, my oldest sister had just had a miscarriage, I had been diagnosed with anxiety disorder and PMDD, added on top of all that my mom had just had aortic bi pass surgery, and i was starting my first year of high school marching band. I was a terrible marcher i will admit but even though i was so bad four seniors took pity on my friend Joni and I took us under there wings and taught us how to march. And so the Jcrew was born Me(jenny), Joni, Jon, JD, JJ and Joel. That was the second time JJ had entered my life. And the crush I had had on him was still just as strong as the first time so i got brave and asked him out sadly he denied me. So i attempted to make him jealous by dating our mutual friend Joel but that backfired. I spent the rest of the year confused on weather i was dating Joel or not. That year the band went to Chicago, and while there the Jcrew became even closer it was also there that i found out about Kristen Tuker one of my best friends , she had a tumor in her stomach and later found out she had overian cancer. Graduation that year was bittersweet. The doctors had successfully removed Kristens tumor, and yet all i could think about was the fact that i was losing my best Friends, the three i had come to love as brothers, and the one whom although he had denied me i couldn't help but fall completely in love with. Sophomore year was a blur of trying to find something to fill the empty void in my heart left after the Jcrew had left even Joni and Kristen had moved i felt isolated and alone but i still had faith that God had a plan. 11th grade came along with a cocktail of anxiety pills we were trying to find away to keep my disorder in check but at the same time i lost control of myself i was so mellowed out by the pills that i didn't care who i hurt or what happened to me. i was sneaking around behind my mothers back hiding from her, going one place when i said i was going another , and cheating i had a different boyfriend every other week and this just wasn't me. Finally reality hit me when Joel came home to visit one weekend and i told him about all of my "adventures" . He shook me out of it and kept me in line the rest of that year but then he started getting a little crazy on me and distant when i left that summer for Europe i told myself this is my trip for me and me alone i wasn't going to hook up with anybody but fate had something else in store. A week into the trip i met Craig and we got together and everything seemed to vanish for both of us. he broke his addiction to caffeine and my anxiety went away that was until i came home. It was now my senior year and he lived four hours away and i couldn't stand the distance it was driving me crazy. It hurt me being so far away from him my anxiety was back and with a vengeance. So one night i finally told him what was going on and he said "this is my one chance to take your pain away and I'm going to take it lets just be friends" two weeks later it was homecoming i wasn't going to go to the dance but i was at the game for the band several band alumni had come to watch and among them was the one guy i knew i loved and not just puppy love real love true love. JJ. He talked to me the whole game and at one point and i know its a crappy pickup line but he said "whats your boyfriend gonna say when i take you out to dinner Saturday" and "i said well i cant i have a marching competition but he wouldn't say anything cause i don't have one." by the end of the game we had compromised and he would come to church with me on that Sunday Oct. 18th and after we would hang out and watch movies at his house. And by Christmas break we were engaged and planning our wedding for Aug. 7 2010. And here we are My brother is getting out of prison this week or next, my sister has three kids, my mom is healthy as a horse, I no longer have to take a regular anxiety pill i have a when you need it pill and my PMDD is under control, and as for my stepsister well last summer she spent a month with us and now is back in Maine and is a proud mother of a little boy Jacob he was born in December but now she is back to ignoring us again but that's OK graduation is in a couple of weeks and in a few months i will be married and working towards being a missionary's wife and a missionary my self me and JJ both have surrendered to the call of God. well stay here and until we can afford to go to seminary. Well that's about it High School in a nutshell the bad may have been bad but the good well ....IT WAS GOOD!

Westside Story

West side Story is a modern day adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. Sett in a city on Manhattan Island the story is of the Jets and the Sharks two rival gangs pitted against each other. But one faithful night at a community dance Tony of the Jets and Maria a little sister of a Shark meet and fall instantly in love but when big brother sees maria kiss Tony all innocent fun is over a war council is had and a fair fight is decided upon Bernardo (big brother) against the leader of the Jets but when Tony shows up on Maria's orders to stop the fight Bernardo takes it as he wants to fight and what was once a fair skin to skin fight turns into an all out brawl with knives and in the middle of it all Tony kills Bernardo. He knows that once Maria finds out it will all be over. Meanwhile Maria sits on a rooftop waiting for him not knowing what has happened then Chino comes and tells her that Tony killed Bernardo. She pleads saying its not true take her instead then Tony comes and explains what happened and the are finnaly together. The jets regroup at a garage and start trying to act cool and calm. Even though they are all upset because in the fighting riff died to. Finnaly they leave and go looking for Tony because the PRs want him dead and the have pulled out guns to do it. Then Bernardo's Girlfriend shows up expecting comfort from Maria but Tony is with her adn when he goes out the window Bernardo's girlfriend see's him and preceds to tell Maria to leave him and find one of her own. Maria counters with the fact that she is in love and she will not leave him. They need eachother. Bernardo's Girlfriend understands and forgives her. She tells her that Chino has a gun and is hunting Tony. Then a Detective enters and starts asking questions so maria sends Bernardos girl to give Tony a message but the Jets are there and they attack her when she is saved by Doc she lies and says that Chino shot Maria because he found out about her and Tony. Then Doc goes and talks to Tony and tells him what Bernardo's girl said about Maria. Tony is distraught and goes to find Chino. One of the Jets trys to stop him but he doesnt listen. Then he sees Maria and as he is running to her Chino shoots him. Maria holds him on the ground as he lays bleeding then when his eyes close for good she lays him down then the jets approch the sharks they have both gathered and Maria stops them takes the gun from Chino and starts to threaten them she tells them they all killed them killed them with hate. The detective shows up takes the gun and starts toward Tony's body but she wont let him touch him. Then the Jets pick him up and some Sharks help but Maria just sits there and baby John places her sawl back on her head then she gets up and follows Tony's body. Chino is taken in and it is all over.

Non-Verbal Communication

Mr. Bean dosnt speak much. he must go and take an exam. he tries to phsic out the student next to him . he also tries to compete with him by making sure that whatever that student has he has more or one better. like when the student gets out a pen he dose to when another one is taken out he pulls out several more and some toys. when he opens the exam he looks at it with shock it appears that he dosnt kwon anything about what is on the papper he is fidgiting and then begins to look over at the paper of the student next to him. when the student throws away his first paper after bean has already copied it he gets angry and dose the same then tries to copy what he writes again but then the student notices and turns the paper over so bean blows at it until he can see the answers then he just takes it when the student notices he moves the paper to the otherside of the desk so bean goes under the desk. then he is told that there is another test and one that he knows but it is to late to finnesh . He goes to the beach. he dosnt notice that there is another person on the small beach when he attempets to put on his spedo he notices and tries to hide what he is doing by acting like he is doing exersises and stuff. then he attempts to put the spedo on without showing anything then the man gets up and mr.bean realizes the man is blind.
part two
mr. bean goes into church. late. he stands next to an older man and begins to listen to the preacher but he is board and begings to let his eyes wonder about the room untill they land on the man next to him who looks at him angerly then he sneezes very loudly and begins to look for his hanky but he doesnt have one so he blows it on the inside of his pocket then plays with it and puts back inside his jacket much to the disgust of his neighbor then he begins to fall asleep and is awoken very loudly. he keeps dozing utill he falls onto the mans lap and then into the floor. it looks like he is praying but he is really asleep then he wakes up starteled and keeps dozing and then he holds his eyes open and when that doesnt work he trys eating a peice of candy but the wrapper is loud and annoys the man next to him when goes to place the wrapper into his pocket his hand gets stuck and he acidentaly drops the candy down his shirt then they begin sining and the man will not share his book with him so mr. bean sings only when it says aleluia as he trys to get it out without the man noticing and when he finnaly does he cant eat it without the other man noticing and so he puts it in his pocket the one he sneezed in.
The return of Mr. bean he walks by a street mucian and wants to leave him a tip but the one bill he has is to large and he needs change so he puts down his hanky and begins to dance he gets some change from a lady and gives it to the street performer and leaves then he goes into a convinent store and the perfume couter about chokes him to death then he goes to the toothbrushes and open one and tries it then puts it back and gets another then he tries out a towl he rides up the elevator he looks board he dosnt realize hes at the top he makes his way to the kitchen utinces and tries out a potatoe pealer and doesnt like it then he tries another he dose the same thing with the skillets then he goes to the phones and expects them to work but they dont so he takes the customer sevice desks phone by mistake then at the check outhis credit card gets mixed up so he trys to switch them back but ends up in the batthroom with the other man. then he goes on a date i think. no he is giving himself a birthday card then he looks at the menue and pulls out all his money then he realizes he still has a hanger in his jacket then he tries the wine of the house then he begins to play happy bithday on the water glasses which annnoys the other guest then the waiter puts the napkin in his lap and brings his food witch to his supries is almost not even cooked but he attempts to eat it any way then tries to hide it in things sitting on his table. under plates and such. then a mucsian comes in and plays music for him so he cant hide the rest of the food then he spits out a bite in the mucians pants then the waiter trips and spills food every where so they give bean more food.
he is at a movie premire waiting to greet the royals he is practicing what he is going to do then he realizes his shoes are not shinned. then he checks his breath and it is bad so he spays annoyingly sprays his breath. he checks his teeth and finger brushes the takes a string from the maids out fit and flosses and it gets stuck then he gives it back. he figits some more then realizes he doesnt have a hanky in his front jaket pocket so he tries to make one out of a peice of paker he checks his nails and uses his zipper to fix his middle nail then his zipper gets stuck down and he greats the queen with a headbut and runs.
The cuse of Mr. bean
he pulls into a parking garage and finds his arm is to short to open the gate . he is at the swimming pool and is rather childish he goes to slide down the kiddy slide and the lifegaurd tells him no. then he sees the high dive and climbs up then he looks down and is clearly afraid he tries to reasure himself but he ends up lying down one the board and peeking over the edge then two boys walk up and he has to jump but he is too scared he curls up into a ball he trys to inch himself over one leg at a time until is is dangling off the board adn then the life gaurd comes back and sees him by this time he is hanging on by one hand the boys step on it and he falls then he realizes he has lost his shorts and a young girl picks them up and takes them the lifegaurd says everybody out and mr.bean hides under water until everyone is gone but he is seen by a young girls swim team then he dosnt want to pay the tole at the booth for parking so he trys to go out the in he gets a trash barrel to serve as a car to get a new ticket but a car is in his way now so he backs up and waits for a car to come so he can charge the gate .

then he is at the park and a man is reading he sits down next to him. the man begins eating lunch bean pulls out a loaf of bread and begins to hack at it wiht sizzors so that he can make a sandwithch . he gets out butter he uses a credit card to spread butterhe pulls out lettucie and washes it in the water fountain then drys it with his sock all of the sandwitch stuff is in his jacket pockets inclunding a jar of sardines much to the distaste of the other man. he even poors out pepper corns into his handky then crueshes them with his shoe then the other man pulls out his drink and bean pulls out a hot water bottle and makes tea then he puts his hankey in his shirt. and sneezes his sandwich is gone

now he is on a date his is at the movie hi picks on his date and tries to schare her before the movie but when it starts he is the one who is scared very scared and he screams alot. then he tries to get his dated to leave but she wont and then she is very scared at the end.

Censorship

Have you ever been told that you cant read certain books? I have, when the Harry Potter series first came out everyone wanted them and everyone was reading them everyone but me. My mother and several other parents had watched a christian video on the books and had decided to take a stand and protest the books and the soon to follow movies. I was constantly ridiculed by other students but I never once broke moms rule about the books or movies and still today when if i wanted i could read or watch Harry Potter I haven't and not because of mom because what no one realized back then was that I agreed with my mother. However; I do not believe that the government should decided what may be read and by whom it should be a personal or parental decision. There are tree main reasons I believe this way Research, Religion, and Culture.
My first reason is research. Many times students are ask to write papers about topics relating to current events such as war, politics, and other mature items. In tenth grade i wrote a paper on abortion and some of my research was pretty gruesome. If our town would have imposed censorship on our town library then i would not have been allowed to look up and research what I needed for my paper due to its graphic content.
Religion is another reason I believe censorship is wrong. There have been many times where I have been curious about religions other than my own. With the way many people think some of the religions I looked into would have been "to much" for my young mind in there eyes. If children under eighteen are the ones who would be prevented from reading these books for there Violence , Sexual Content, and Language is it not possible that some children wouldn't be allowed to read the bible. I mean it has brutal beatings, and sexual content. Some children wouldn't be able to learn about there own religion. Even books religions of ancient civilizations could be banned. Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice was banned from classrooms in Midland, Michigan in 1980 due to its portrayal of the Jewish character Shylock.(Http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/banned-books.html) If Michigan can ban Shakespeare for a Jewish character whats to stop Arkansas from banning a book on Greek mythology or Hindu religion.
Culture is another important reason for censorship not to be allowed. Students learn who they are and what the world has in it, and they learn to use there imagination and explore. There are so many good books that have been banned from school Libraries across the country. Black Beauty has been removed from the shelves because it depicts cruelty to animals. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn has been banned because it contains the word "nigger". " We're not talking soft porn, racist drek and subversive witchcraft propaganda. Among the most banned books are some of the best-loved modern classics." said Suzanne Fisher Staples in her essay "What Johnny Can't Read Censorship in American Libraries"(http://scholar.lib.vt.edu/ejournals/ALAN/winter96/pubCONN.html) There are tons of books that have been banned without regard for the amount of culture that they contain and how that will help students learn. There are many times in history classes where we have been learning about culture and I all but fall asleep but in books I learn every bit of what I missed out on in class plus books make it easier for kids to learn history and culture because it makes it fun it helps them make it real.(
Each book has its own gifts to offer, story's to tell, and lessons to teach but the freedom to choose which to read is what teaches some of life's most important lessons. Such as; trusting yourself, knowing what you believe in, and tolerance all of which become harder to learn once you are an adult. I believe censorship is wrong because it limits research, censors religions, and stifles children's abilities to learn about culture. If we allow Censorship to continue how can we ever expect our children and children of future generations to be able to learn freely and make up their own minds becoming their own person.

Earthquakes, Euopean Storms , Is it Global Warming or Somthing Different?

The 8.8 Earthquake that shook Chile destroyed more than 30 cities and an estimated 500,000 homes. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/lt_chile_earthquake) The Storm that hit several European Countries is estimated to be the cause of more than 60 deaths.(http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100301/ap_on_re_eu ) People all over the world are blaming global warming(http://news.yahoo.com/s/csm/20100228/ts_csm/283713) but could it realy be somthing more. All throughout Revelations there are stories about the end times and how there will be great storms, earthquakes and wars. Revelations 16:18 says "And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings and there was a great earthquake such as was not since men were upon the earth so mighty an earthquake and so great." Just how many earthquakes have we had lately and how many of them could easily fit this discription. Revelations also talks about all the great wars and how nations wil be set against nations. Does taht not describe the world to day. No one knows the hour in wich the Lord will return the bible says not even the angels in heaven know the hour, but he will come and from the looks of things soon so will you be ready?

Banning of Ipods a Little Much Dont You Think

I Think that banning ipods all together is just a little bit crazy. I belive that students should not be able to have them out durring classes but should be aloud to have them as long as there put away and off. Sometimes classes have free days and ipods and media players would be a nice way to keep kids udercontrol. Also many kids use such devices on busses before and after school to keep out of the drama and trouble that goes on all in all i think banning these devices all together is a bad idea. here is an artical that shares my opionion.

Love Story

Some say were crazy some wish they were us but either way all are happy for us. I Jennifer Mason and Johnathen Johnson will be getting married this summer. I am so excited and cannot wait my cake is being made by a lady from my church. The dresses are all being made for me and other preperations are being made i am so excited .
